[Tugindia] TeX for Carnatic Music typesetting

Dear TeX experts,

Do we have some way of typesetting Cannatic Music notation in Devanagari/
Malayalam/Tamil?

Basically Carnatic Music notation is something like this:

One line will be the notation and the next line is the corresponding lyrics
which is, sort of, one to one mapping from notation to lyrics. The boundaries
of "Talam" is drawn at different places. Also higher octave and lower octave
is differentiated using dots on top and bottom of the note respectively.

One close example I could find on the internet is

  http://carnatic2000.tripod.com/notation.htm

I hope I was able to convey what I had in mind. How difficult is it to have
a module to do this kind of a job? (if it doesn't already exist, that is)
I do not know anything about TeX/LaTeX macros/internals, I am just a normal
LaTeX user. But I can help someone with musical notation, as I am well versed
in it.

Thanks
best regards
