Let me say out-loud: I DO trust you, I always had and most likely will,
indefinitely.
Every piece of advice I have gotten from you have been sharp, on the mark
and
saved me tons.

The point here is that you are fixed on the word "Error" which is what the
LaTeX
runs puts out.  The problem is something completely different -- it is
UX/UI.

No newbie to TeX will read a 41-page post-installation manual and grasp
that they
will need to do an "fc-check" for running the files of the LaTeX Font
Catalogue.

I know -- that is the fact, but it is a sorry state of affairs --
especially for a new user.
