Dear FORUM members, and friends of the Y&Y TeX System,

Michael sent this email to admin by mistake...I am sure he meant to send it to techsupport ;-).

Regards,
Blenda.

The jpg's mentioned below were images that I sent with my original email to
Y&Y tech support (support at yandy.com). Essentially, those screen grabs
indicated that the fonts could not be found.

The Windows/fonts folder does not have any zero size files. Also, as far
as I can tell it does not include any of the TeX fonts (but they could be
there...). The prior email on this included the list of all the font files
in the Windows/fonts folder.

When I installed the fonts using the 2.2 version Y&Y CD, the fonts were
installed in a flash --- almost as if nothing really happened. I do not
recall the CD spinning up, i.e. I don't think anything came off of the
CD(!). I attempted to install the fonts a second time, and the same thing
happened --- no success in getting the DVI viewer to work w/ the TeX
fonts. Instead some Windows fonts were substituted.

Today I moved ahead and installed MiKTeX (after being a long time Y&Y
user). I'd still rather use Y&Y. I thought that perhaps MiKTeX would put
the fonts where the Y&Y DVI viewer would find them, but I am still seeing
the same fonts error message from the Y&Y DVI viewer. The MiKTeX install
with their DVI viewer does work, so I do have fonts somewhere on my system.

I will add that the Y&Y 2.2 ver CD did successfully install on my prior NT
4 machine.

Hopefully, someone has some ideas on what might be going on.
