BibTeX problem -- I can reproduce it ;-((

I am still unable to use the TeX > BibTeX menu route to get to
BibTeX.

However, when I go to the command line, as per bibtex.txt instructions
;-) , I _am_ able to access BibTeX and it does read my file -- and
IMMEDIATELY gives me the same message Michel reported above.

So what does it mean and where's it coming from? Is this a literal
string that's ended up in one of the files? Or is it an actual
information piece of text: that `A is open in' [the filename that
follows]?

To check the former, I copied the c:\yandy\texinput\bibinput and
c:\yandy\bstinput folders as well as bibtex.exe to a directory on my
unixbox, where I can use GREP to locate stuff.

Well, there's no sequence `a_open_in' in any of the ASCII files -- and
of course I see that there's no way the .exe file would have it, given
what I saw of its contents via emacs ;-)

So I'm in a quandry. There's something fishy. I'd like to contact Don
Story to ask if he uses BibTeX with 2.2 and if it works ok. If yes,
then I think we need to check the dates on the various BibTeX-related
files to see if there's something different there.

Robin, is there anyone at your site already using v.2.2's BibTeX?

I think it's obvious that I'm a bit reluctant to ask my NRC client
about it ;-) -- they'll wonder why they're paying me if they can get
to me/Robin via techsupport ;-)
