Well, we've seen problems associated with upgrading the OS from
Win2000 to XP, which is the case of your desktop ... However, that's
usually been in the context of also having fonts + Y&YTeX installed
previously under Win2000, and then both being reinstalled under
XP.

Would this be a `virgin' Y&YTeX installation on both machines, with
only an OS upgrade for the desktop?

`The box says at byte ... ' and nothing more? I'm sure these error
messages give a little bit more, no?

In the FAQ `Font Topics', Q8 is about launching DVIWindo Help and
getting complaints about missing fonts. If this is your case, then
check the FAQ at the website: www.yandy.com > Support > Frequently
Asked Questions. If this solves the problelm (we should be so lucky,
eh, on a Friday afternoon!), then please post the details!

Do you have any problems displaying any other .dvi files?

What happens when you try to launch WinEdt from the DVIWIndo TeX menu
options? This question comes to mind because you say you're' clicking
on the actual executable, presumably from a list displayed via
Explorer ... That is, are we talking about WinEdt on your machine
before Y&YTeX, or was it part of the Y&YTeX install?

This question sounds more system-related than TeX. Does anyone with
WinEdt experience have some suggestions?

We're tryin'! ;-)

P.S. As this techsupport mailing list is received by all subscribers,
try to remember NOT to include anything sensitive ... like your
key ;-) . While it's not likely that I'm going to do anything
with it, as I'm in Ottawa and 3 time zones away ;-) , this is an
     public forum ... Just a reminder ...
