[XeTeX] graphics aspect ratio

Hi, I'm new to xelatex...

I can include an image from my camera, using \includegraphics, without problems. 
However, when I convert the image with convert (from ImageMagick), for example:

$ convert image.jpg -quality 40 image.jpg

the resulting output in the pdf has height/width ratio 0.30 instead of 0.75.
pdflatex has no problem with the same source.
Is this a known problem?
