This is, I think, a mismatch between TeXLive (which includes XeTeX
now) and Jonathan Kew's separate XeTeX package. I have no time to
explain (must shorten by 2 pages an 8-page communication to be
emailed to Australia before midnight today Paris time, that's in 4.5
hours), but you can try two remedies:

- Reinstall the TeX i-Package without reinstalling the separate XeTeX
package afterwards. Hopefully this will erase the XeTeX installed in
texmf.local, and use that in texmf.texlive. I'm not sure. Gerben,
Jonathan?

- Reinstall the TeX i-Package, then compile XeTeX from source.
Quoting a message from myself on 26 November:

Hope this works, I have to dash now.
