I have updated xdvipdfmx to "Revision 315." 'otool -L src/xdvipdfmx'
still tells:

src/xdvipdfmx:
	/usr/local/lib/libfreetype.6.dylib (compatibility version 10.0.0,
current version 10.10.0)
	/sw/lib/libpaper.1.dylib (compatibility version 3.0.0, current
version 3.2.0)
/usr/lib/libz.1.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version
1.2.3)
/sw/lib/libpng.3.dylib (compatibility version 3.0.0, current version
3.0.0)
	/sw/lib/fontconfig2/lib/libfontconfig.1.dylib (compatibility version
2.0.0, current version 2.4.0)
	/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/
ApplicationServices (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version
22.0.0)
/usr/lib/libmx.A.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version
92.0.0)
	/usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current
version 88.1.6)

Are they used because configure just happens to find them?
