Hi, Everyone,
Thanks very much for helping me with my little problems concerning
1) Skipping lines,
2) Centering of Section Headings,
3) Altering the margin at the top of the first page,
4) "Bringing figures and Tables back to a page".

Concerning 3) I also found another, rather nice, way was to use

          ~\\
          \vspace{...}

just after "\begin{document}".

Concerning 4) I found that changing the "minipage length" and
rescaling brought  the figures back and using "\tabular* "  and
modifying the entries in the Table brought the Tables back to the
page.
