[Tugindia] Equation breaking problems in TeX/LaTeX

I have a feeling that \allowdisplaybreaks will not solve this problem. 
Normally, the equations grouped with the align environment do not break
across a page.  I still recall the horrid times I had to go through while
fixing this problem manually.  Thanks to this list, I came to know about
\allowdisplaybreaks.

If I am not mistaken, elegantly (and automatically) breaking long
equations into different lines is an open problem.  Some ideas to do this
manually are given in
