[Tugindia] Tex fonts

[Bhaskaracharya Pratishthana]

Hello listers,

I want to know details of LaTeX/TeX fonts.
Like, does TeX uses system fonts? Then can we use fonts used by LaTeX, like  
local languages (Devnag, Gurumukhi) for other applications on the same pc, 
where TeX is already install.
 If this question is on wrong list then please guide me for he proper list.
