[Tugindia] Fonts and NFSS

Hello All,

I have been trying to comprehend matters regarding
Fonts. The Latex2e Companion explains on changing
fonts i.e to change psfonts.map to achieve PostScript
rendering? Is this recommended for no commercial
users? If so how does one do this? 
I have tried to use \usepackage{lucidabr} in my
documents but DVI viewer produces no text.

I am using Win98SE, MikTex and WinEdt.
