The availability of these updates is checked first when TLU is launched, and then after you select a different repository in Configure > Manage Repositories, or type directly a URL in the URL field of the toolbar. You may have to select Actions > Refresh Package List for the new check to take place.

I don't remember exactly when the freeze is supposed to take place <https://tug.org/texlive/>: February 15, when the final builds of the TeX Live 2022 binaries are made, or February 25, when pretest starts.

Howdy,

Sorry for the confusion... the updates I'm talking about are for TLU not the TeX Live updates. When I run the TeX Live Utility->Check for Updates… menu item first there is a flash of a dialog box that goes by too fast for me to read and then the final dialog box with the information about TLU updates.

I run the TeX Live updates manually (i.e., not using the scheduler) as part of my daily routine and that is working fine.

Good Luck,
