Howdy,
Thanks for supplying the example. I've got the same results using TeXworks to display the pdf however the figure is there and can be seen if you open the pdf in Preview. It seems to be a Poppler problem. I'm using TeXworks 0.3 (r.567), the last experimental release for Mac OS X.
