Hi Uwe, the problems occurs when i write, for example (and happens
always, at least to me):
code Tex:
``campo" y ``carga"
compiled:
(English quotes) campo ²(English quotes)carga(English quotes)
i don't know because appears this two (is like a square but mare larger)
in the archive .dvi. Appears whenever i write ``word" y ``other word",
the "y" in spanish is equivalent to "and" in english.
I could not install yet csquotes, because i have't Internet in this machine.

The preambule say:

\documentclass[11pt,spanish]{book}

\usepackage[spanish,activeacute]{babel}
\usepackage[latin1]{inputenc}
\oddsidemargin 0in
%\textwidth 6.75in
%\topmargin 0in
%\textheight 8.5in
%\parindent 0em
%\parskip 2ex
\usepackage{upgreek} %para letras griegas en modo matemático
\usepackage{times}
%\usepackage{tipa}
\usepackage{textcomp}
%\usepackage[pdftex]{graphicx}
%\usepackage[pdftex]{color}
\usepackage[all]{xy}
\usepackage{pb-diagram} %para diagramas conmutativos
\usepackage{graphicx}
%\usepackage{esint} % para la integral doble
\usepackage{amsmath}
\usepackage{amssymb} %para usar el \therefore
\pretolerance=3000
