No, it turns out that parallel.sty and ednotes.sty did not work on the same 
pages, so I cannot contribute. ledpar is well-tested. While the rest of 
ledmac is just a "port" from EDMAC the method of which was Peter Wilson's 
idea, ledpar is Peter Wilson's own work. By contrast to parallel.sty and 
ednotes.sty, here a package writer has studied the matter and worked it out.
