[texhax] Paragraph spacing

It's not clear from your posting how you're using \paragraph{}, but you
should not confuse it with \par.

The first, \paragraph{}, is to be used like \chapter{} or \section{} for
very minor section headings while \par, or simply and empty line is what
separates paragraphs.

If I'm right, it sounds like you might need a quick glance at one of the
many introductory manuals.
