[tex4ht] tex4ht shows error with \( command when amsmath is loaded

Hello,
tex4ht from TeXLive 2020 fails on the appended example. I append the log file
from running
mk4ht htlatex test2
This happens on current Cygwin; it worked until Cygwin switched from TeXLive
2019 to TeXLive 2020.
