Installation instructions

In my online documentation, I have always provided a screen-by-screen 
installation guide for MacTeX, MiKTeX, and TeX Live (Windows).

Every five years or so I ask people, "Do I need to continue doing this?"

Are users in general at a stage where we can just say "click Install and 
follow the instructions"?
