Impossible to use TL 2023 on Windows

We used to see it a lot with Windows 7 as some students we asked (in some CS course) to add a path to the system PATH and the interface at the time had highlighted the current path, so when you started typing to deleted what was already there.
In Win10 this should be changed to an Excel like interface where each entry is a cell in a column, så this sort of problem haven't really been seen since.

Very happy to hear this.
Next steps: in my ignorance of Windows —
1. Do we know the reason why C:\Windows\System32 was missing from the path?
2. Is this a common problem? Something the average Windows user is
likely to experience?
