Hi,

I have had a couple of people report a bug in jadetex on TeX Live
2009/OpenBSD. I will try my best to explain, but i know very little of
SGML.

If we go to the jadetex homepage there are some examples
(http://jadetex.sourceforge.net/#index-div-d18e385). If I follow these
instructions, all is fine (other than a warning from openjade, not
sure if that is important).

edd-i386% openjade -t tex -d demo.dsl demo.sgm
openjade:E: cannot open "/usr/local/share/builtins.dsl" (No such file
or directory)
edd-i386% pdfjadetex demo.tex
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-1.40.10 (PuffTeX-2009)
entering extended mode
(./demo.tex
JadeTeX 2003/04/27: 3.13
(/usr/local/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/psnfss/t1ptm.fd)

(./demo.aux) (/usr/local/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/tipa/t3ptm.fd)

(/usr/local/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/hyperref/nameref.sty
(/usr/local/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/oberdiek/refcount.sty)) (./demo.out)
(./demo.out) [1.0.58] (./demo.aux) )
Output written on demo.dvi (1 page, 2580 bytes).

If I use pdfjadetex in place of jadetex, I do not get a PDF, but instead a DVI:
edd-i386% pdfjadetex demo.tex

entering extended mode
(./demo.tex

A pdf *is* written and appears to look correct, but something seems wrong here?

 * should pdfjadtex output pdf by default?
 * should we bet getting those warnings?
 * should we be getting the openjade warning?

Do other users on different systems get this? Linux, Solaris... etc...

Thanks
