I don't know what "mex" in Matlab or in TeX means, but I generally
vote for more meaningful names.

It is always quite hard to give up something which people are
accustomed to for many years, but I think that everybody (not only
people in Poland) benefit from more meaningful names.

Please let me take this opportunity to remind everyone that the 8.3
restriction is obsolete for many years.  Unfortunately not everyone
recognized it yet.  Excuse me for saying it again and again.
