epstool --copy --bbox %1.ps %1.eps

works, especially if you have an "empty" page style. Sometime in
December 2006 I posted "figtex" which automatically generated
correctly-sized eps & epdf from pstricks source; there was also a
sample tex file that set the page to otherwise empty.
