Hello, again! > this new issue for CWEB (https://github.com/ascherer/cweb/issues/39) was caused by a twenty year old bug in 'cwebmac.tex'! '\pdftextrue' does _not_ also mean '\pdftrue' in the old sense of 'cwebmac.tex'. However, 'iftex.sty' sets '\pdftrue' for the PDFTeX engine, too, for obvious reasons. Case closed! Andreas
