You don't mantion the version numer of TeX Live and you don't mantion
the version number of pdftex that you are using. I cannot guarantee that
the whole system works as it should if you upgrade just pdftex.

It makes no sense that I send you a pdftex_dl14.map file. If you are
using TeX Live, you should already have it. Maybe, pdftex.map is a
symbolic link to pdftex_ndl14.map.

You should get what you want by running
  updmap --setoption pdftexDownloadBase14 true
