Hi

While typesetting a big document with pdftex (Version
3.14159-14f-released-20000525, MiKTeX 2.0 beta 6)
and hyperref (2000/07/02 v6.70m) I got the following fatal error:

> ! TeX capacity exceeded, sorry [number of destination names=20000].

The document is the Old Testament in Jon Bosak's XML version, which I
converted to a 4MB LaTeX file using a XSL. If I typeset the same LaTeX file

with standard TeX (and hyperref) there is no problem.

I had never seen this error before, and I assume that upgrading the
software is a good idea. But what does it mean? Is there some kind of
limitation in the
number of bookmarks pdftex can handle (I'm generating a bookmark for every
verse in the Old Testament)? I typesetted the New Testament using the same
process with no problem...
