Empty folders

Hi,

This is frustrating. I am trying to use LaTeX on my Mac. The MacTeX installation seems to work by creating folders but they seem all empty and TeXShop and TeX Live Utility cannot find the programs (see attached screenshot). I do not find the proper help to fix this.
