Hello,

A few minutes ago, I submitted a support request related to an installer
problem. I just managed to fix this by moving the same "MacTex.pkg" file
out of my Downloads folder to Desktop and running it from there. (This forum
post
<https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/install-with-pkg-file-failed.2367425/>
suggests others had a similar problem and solution, with other .pkg files
in recent versions of macOS.)

I hope that info is useful for future troubleshooting; you can disregard my
support request.
