Howdy,

I have to admit I don't like any application opening old windows on startup. In the General Tab of System Preferences turn on `Close windows when quitting an app'. I tend to re-open files using the Files->Open Recent… Menu command. If I have a project and I want files from that project to open multiple files in Tabs I either use the

% !TEX useTabs

TeXShop directive in the root Source file to open all the \include files; or the

% !TEX useTabsWithFiles

directive with subsequent

% !TEX tabbedFile{...}

directives to open those files I wish opened in Tabs.

I even have TeXShop do nothing unless I double clicked a file to open it. Both boxes are unchecked in the `On Startup' section of the Source Tab of TeXShop->Preferences.

Good Luck,
