[OS X TeX] TeX Live Utility 1.49 fails to update old TeXLive 2019 and leaves it unusable.

I had a shortcut. I have a backup of all my TeX Live trees from 2007 to 2021.
So I tried the update twice. Same outcome. Failed, AND clobbered the tree.
