[OS X TeX] Scaling figures in (pdf)latex produced with gnuplot, etc.

Scaling already produced output is not a good idea not only because
size of fonts would not be consistent but linewidth would not be
consistent as well.

I use mainly pgf/tikz with gnuplot as a slave, and pgf/tikz allows to
select size of the output. If I need to use Maple/Mathematica I
usually use them without text labels or any lines I can produce in
pgf/tikz and then impose everything else
