Right. This is an issue with XeTeX itself, not the fontspec package
or the actual font.
It's not exactly a bug, I'd say, it's a known (unfortunate)
consequence of the current program architecture; the AAT or OpenType
font processing is not able to distinguish a mid-line font change
(which breaks the text run for font feature processing) from a line
boundary.
I'd be glad to improve this some day, but it's part of a whole area
that requires considerable work to handle correctly. For now, it's a
limitation of the implementation.
