[OS X TeX] The .enc problem

BTW, it is a deliberate policy by me to have different paths than 
teTeX. That way I can detect certain problems easily. Same holds for 
not having correct built-in paths. Apart from a setup problem that 
would bring me, it would also mean that systems which are actually 
broken would remain functional far longer and it would cost me 
exponentially more time to find out what is wrong. E.g. if someone 
mangles or removes /usr/local/teTeX/texmf.cnf I can now find out 
easier. The whole things stops working immediately.
