[lucida] Installation Lucida in Texmaker

The Type 1 installation instructions at

contain details for MikTeX (in the first half about how to remake the filename database, in the second half about enabling the Lucida map file). I cannot tell more unfortunately.

In any case, I’m really surprised the procedure isn’t documented anywhere for TeX Live under Windows. These are actually general questions for TeX Live on Windows: where to install the font files? how to update the filename database? how to enable the lucida map file?

Is the procedure different on Windows from that for TeX Live on Linux and Mac? I thought it wasn’t, but your messages seem to say it is.

At TeX Stack Exchange <https://tex.stackexchange.com> there are some instructions by Joseph Wright, giving explicit instructions for Linux, Mac and Windows. The instructions are for another font, but the sections about file installation and updating maps should be similar for Lucida.

As a rule, for general TeX Live questions the best source of information is the TeX Live list (you don’t need to be a member to post):

I know for a thing there are experts of TeX Live on Windows there.
