I just wrote that I did not succeed in convincing mktexpk to make its fonts on the T:-drive. It turns out to be due to the fact that another texmf.cnf file was read than I thought. I failed to notice that now the active texmf.cnf file is in \texmf-var. It now seems to work fine. Simon Pepping
