installation comments on 3e-zip...

Hi Alan,

Just to answer a couple of these for Fabrice (to save him the typing!):

Many people just wanted the files w/o the InstallShield, so Fabrice
makes them available via .zip.

I believe a number of people spoke up and said that they use emacs'
ability to read man pages, so Fabrice left the man pages in.

Hmm, I kind of doubt that the kind of people who use TeX are going to be
grubbing around with the internals of files using Notepad.  Every other
decent editor takes care of this without problem.  I'd kind of hate for
Fabrice to feel obliged to run all his files through a <CR><LF> filter.

I'm not sure about this one.  I've never clearly understood how FPTeX
configures stuff.
