set your HOME environment variable to something meaningful like
"c:/home"

Not yet done, but anyway, please upgrade to:

ftp://ftp.ese-metz.fr/pub/tex/win32-beta/windvi-0.66-pre6.exe

You might be able to print using :

windvi -p 300 -mfmode deskjet foo.dvi 
or alike.
