I downloaded, unpacked, and installed fptex 0.1 into C:\TeX with
absolutely no incidents. It compiles my thesis (or what I have of it
:-), which is definitely a good sign. 

And thanks for removing the spurious log messages generated by older
versions of windvi... now when a dvi file is opened and all of the fonts
are available, the log window never comes up---that's the way I like it!

fpTeX will certainly be a success, particularly in conjunction with
teTeX in mixed Unix/Windows environments. Good going, Fabrice...
