Well, version 53 works somehow better with colored texts, however only with
high (16b/pxl) or true (24b/pxl). I'm affraid, most users use 256 (8b/pxl).

Small colour eps file included by
 \epsffile{qq.eps}
displayed with version 52, now can't be seen at all (?)

As Eric wrote I also observed:
Unrecoverable error: stackunderflow in eq
Operand stack:    72
gsdll_execute_end returns -17

Straight PS code like
 \font\A cmr10 at20pt
 \hbox{\special{ps:gsave 0.5 setgray}%
 \A This text should be grey
 \special{ps:grestore}}
can not be seen as expected.

Why Options --> windvi and --> TeX are now blocked?

May I suggest some small corrections to windvi.html
-- always display March 1988,
-- mailing list address is not proper
-- some strange letters causes not proper display, e.g.:

Do you intend to distribute corrected metapost? I couldn't find it
