windvi 0.5x and varfonts

Hi Fabrice,
unfortunately windvi 0.5x still ignores varfonts/$VARTEXFONTS:
Although the varfonts feature is enabled in mktex.cnf, new fonts are
generated in the local directory of the dvi file.
Using mktex*.exe of windvi 0.47 and the very same config files, everything
works as expected (i.e. new fonts are generated under $VARTEXFONTS as
of texmf.cnf).
