actually we do have Adobe's Times, which comes with SmallCaps
(TimesRomanSC by name).  about it, the publisher says

> same typesize, but now the characters after the first one appear to be
> formatted in a different typesize. E.g.: In <Musical> the M is size 10
> or 9 and usical is 6. Please make sure all running titles are

I'm sort of at a loss as to why the difference is so great, but the
problem reimains - how to adjust the x-height.
