This is something I intend to investigate further. By the way, Sanchit's
termpaper.log starts

So it's a mismatch between MiKTeX and TeXLive. Out of curiosity if nothing
else, I'd like to get to the bottom of this. Even if a misconfiguration,
knowing how it arose would help us check for it and avoid such accidents in
future.

Also, I'd like to find for Sanchit a solution to the problem that does not
involve reinstalling TeX.
