[accessibility] Tagged PDF example, made with LaTeX + pdftex

Hi all,

I just uploaded the earlier conversation with Volker Sorger, Boris, myself and some others.

Since that time I’ve been working on implementing Tagged PDF using pdftex,
*without* the special primitives used in my earlier work.
This has been a lot more successful than I had first thought it would be.

As “proof-of-concept” attached is a fully tagged PDF/A-1a file,
that passes all the automatic accessibility checks of Acrobat Pro.
Thus it is effectively valid for  PDF/UA-1 as well as PDF/A.
(It just isn’t declared to be PDF/UA.)




Use whatever PDF reading software you have available to check the tagging,
reading order, etc.

I’m currently working on implementing LaTeX’s
* list environments
* mathematics inline & displays
* figures & tables (as a tagged Figure)
* hyperlinking, etc.
* colour
