I just uploaded the earlier conversation with Volker Sorger, Boris, myself and some others.<br>
<br>
Since that time I’ve been working on implementing Tagged PDF using pdftex,<br>
*without* the special primitives used in my earlier work.<br>
This has been a lot more successful than I had first thought it would be.<br>
<br>
As “proof-of-concept” attached is a fully tagged PDF/A-1a file,<br>
that passes all the automatic accessibility checks of Acrobat Pro.<br>
Thus it is effectively valid for PDF/UA-1 as well as PDF/A.<br>
(It just isn’t declared to be PDF/UA.)<br>

Use whatever PDF reading software you have available to check the tagging,<br>
reading order, etc.<br>

I’m currently working on implementing LaTeX’s <br>
* list environments<br>
* mathematics inline & displays<br>
* figures & tables (as a tagged Figure)<br>
* hyperlinking, etc.<br>
* colour<br>
