I['d like to] think that we, Berthold, and the AMS are essentially
in line; any -use- of the fonts is permitted, but the "official"
copyright notice indicates the purity of lineage. (I think the
actual official notice implies that one could, say, rename CMR10
as CMBX12, which certainly qualifies as mischief. ;) In practice
it's difficult to imagine serious practical difficulties.
