Course outline
Writing a course outline is something that might prove tedious, especially if you have to do it often or if you have to perform such a task for several courses. Unfortunately, it is not something we, the teachers, can avoid. Norm Gall created a package called courseoutline which can be found on CTAN and which automates much of the work. One of the main advantages of the package is that it provides simple and clear environments for all tasks, in such a way that it can be used even by someone not very advanced in LaTeX.
We provide here, as a distraction, an example illustrating some of the environments. The filler text is Latin taken from Dante Alighieri's De vulgari eloquentia. Enjoy!
Previous distraction: KenKen puzzles
There were three pretty tough challenges: to use LaTeX or TeX to format a puzzle, solve a puzzle, and generate a new puzzle KenKen. Enough to keep a LaTeX user busy for a few hours, and maybe come up with a novel way to format a puzzle. Alas, no one submitted an entry for any of the challenges. This might be a good sign, that everyone was busy with something useful and didn't need a distraction.
Below is a link to the plain TeX file used to compose the example from last time.
