Capabilities of PDF interactivity

Federico Garcia

Abstract

This article explains some possibilities of PDF documents, namely those that are most relevant and of direct use to authors of regular, paper-based texts (these include mainly bookmarks and links). With an emphasis on 'how do I use it?' rather on 'how does it work?', the intention was to explain the new techniques in terms of those that LaTeX users are already familiar with. PDF post-it notes (not implemented by hyperref) are also illustrated.

Federico Garcia is a composer, chess player, and lover of TeX. He has collaborated with his uncle Rodrigo De Castro in several Spanish-language books on TeX and LaTeX. Since moving to Pittsburgh in the US in 2001, he has written a number of packages, including opcit, TeXmate, and subfiles. Visit Federico at www.fedegarcia.net.
