You're right about the font at issue.  Here's an old message when I
first encountered the problem, with Windows 2000.  (I'm not sure the
problem persisted with Windows XP.)

It's a bug in Windows 2000 Pro.
The Windows GUI spec says FontNames can be up to 32 characters long.
Windows 2000 Pro allows only 31 (presumably for null termination).
LucidaSans-TypewriterBoldOblique
was fine in all previous versions of Windows and on the Mac,
but is rejected by Windows 2000 Pro font installation.
