there is no mention on the web site, since y&y have no current plans
to offer a version of pdftex.

there are well-established techniques for sharing graphics between a
regular tex system (such as y&y) and a pdflatex system.  without
knowing the sorts of graphics you're using with your colleagues, it's
not easy to say which techniques you might use.  unfortunately, the
techniques exist largely as a collective folklore ... i have an
ambition to codify them, but it's at the end of a long queue.
