[XeTeX] Telugu typesetting

Hello,

I'm having some difficulty typesetting Telugu text.

I've attempted it using both a romanized input (by way of a modified
version of the Somadeva Vasudeva's RomDev  IAST --> Devanagari map file)
and through direct input of Unicode Telugu. Both approaches give me an
output with conjunct characters (both consonant+consonant and
consonant+vowel-matra) rendered incorrectly.

Any ideas about what might be happening?

I've attached the a screenshot of the input (trying roman-to-telugu and
then telugu-to-telugu) and a pdf of each output. NB: The Telugu-to-telugu
screenshot shows the proper combination of the Telugu glyphs.
